Details: Typeface made in 2 months using Glyphs. Project supervised by Laurent Kuhni.
Description: This typeface was inspired by soviet punk posters that had found ways around the regime to show their wish of freedom through the creative expression. Long, and brutal diagonals mixed with circles were the starting point of research, found in the archives of the group Kino.
The archives of the czech magazine Revolver Revue inspired the specimen. Founded in 1985 as an underground samizdat periodical to bypass communist censorship, it transitioned to a legal, public publication after the Velvet Revolution and remains a vital fixture in the Czech cultural scene. An example of usage in theoretical posters for the Summer with Keanu Reeves that happened this summer in the Biooko cinema in Prague.
