Project: Collaboration workshop HEAD-Geneva x GDVK UMPRUM
Date: November 2025 x April 2026
Details: Two exhibitions organised at Holešovická Šachta in Prague, and at HEAD-Geneva. Workshop curated by Rob Van Leijsen (HEAD), Noémie Besset (HEAD), Zuzana Lednická (UMPRUM) and Richard Jaroš (UMPRUM).
Description: Latitude Longitude is a collaborative workshop bringing together 44 graphic design students from the GDVK UMPRUM in Prague and HEAD – Geneva. Conceived as a diptych, this joint project unfolded in two phases: students from both institutions first met in the Czech Republic at Mount Sněžka in November 2025, then reunited a second time in Switzerland, Dystelerie Fleurville, in April 2026 to continue their collaboration.
In the first part our group (Konrad Karlík, Adela Preislerová, Salomé Canavy, Natálie Malá) conceived a long poster and zine that was exhibited in Prague. The visuals were inspired by the history of the Mount Sněžka, specifically an homage to polish and czechoslovakian dissidents. In the second part we (David Novák, Marek Kolouch, Susana Lauer Betrán) decided to explore the story of floodings of the river Saone in the region of Fleurville by experimenting with floating compositions, as a result we made a risograph poster and publication. This publication was presented at P.A.G.E.S., held at HEAD – Geneva in May 2026.
This project is made possible thanks to the support of HES-SO and the Swiss Embassy in the Czech Republic.
